Since its first release in 1982, this book had been periodically updated and the 9th revised edition was published in April of 2010. In this latest one, above all, brand-new and informative sections such as "unique qualities of Japanese culture" and "history of Japanese art" were added on. Furthermore, the overall contents were subjected to reworking along with updating, while all numerical values and statistics were revised as appropriate.
